6 outstanding games in Indie.io’s lineup in the next festival at STEAM

Over the past few years, Steam's next festival has become a valuable display for upcoming games, especially for independent developers. It includes participating in games, free demos for live streaming, and interviews with developers that can help you articulate games made by enthusiastic people.

Next Fest regularly introduces Indie.io’s games, a publishing platform that works with developers in a variety of shapes and sizes. The latest next event just landed today, lasting until June 16, and has 25 different titles from Indie.io, the most games the platform has won in the next festival. The legacy of the shrine

The legacy of the shrine is a clear regression in the SNES era, an action RPG that follows a pair of heroes in search of saving Ardemia’s world. You need to find eight basic magic gems to restore the legendary sword of the shrine and use its power to conquer the evil forces that threaten the world. This demo allows you to play a large portion of the game, with two towns, two dungeons and three bosses fighting. Troublemaker 2: Beyond Dreams

Troublemaker 2 is an open world action comedy show game, which is not a combination of hyphen words you often see. This is a sequel to the 2023 Trouble Maker and follows the Palakakok gang from the original Palakakok gang and a band that goes beyond the Dream through Nanjayakata City. This demo sends you into the city with free roaming in the middle of the game, so you can access the entire city. To like a game, the title almost spells it out, right? Don't die, collect loot is an arcade Roguelite RPG where you mow grass through enemies and collect loot in a chaotic bullet battle. If you are the kind of person who finds it strangely satisfying, watching your experience bar fill up, then this is the game for you. Mythrealm is a single-player third-person fantasy RPG, played by adventurer Alaris, who is summoned to this world by mysterious magic. The demons made Zelanar's wizard disappear, putting the world in danger. You need to use wit, tricks and weapons to defeat demons, rescue wizards and save the world. Alaris will start with a novice adventurer, but as she grows up, you can choose whether to direct her to the path of melee warrior, archer or mage. You also need to leverage jumps and platforms to browse dangerous environments and find hidden projects. The demo allows you to explore the first level of Mythrealm, where the legendary warhammer is hidden. Can you find it?

Harry's Secret

In this Victorian spelling-focused Roguelite, you are Clyde, who is becoming the path to becoming the leader of the Aris big library. But now, the sealed foreign entities inside the library have distorted the thoughts of other scholars and the library is facing destruction. You have to sneak into the hall where it is now corrupt, defeat those who were once your scholars, and face the horror of the universe on the road to cleaning the library. On each run, you create new spells that may lead to various different builds, encouraging you to test different possibilities to find your favorites. This demo shows an earlier version of Aris Arcanum, allowing you to taste the gameplay and narrative structure. You can also do early tasks, meet your boss face to face, and there will always be more attempts in subsequent runs.

Longshan Hero

Dragon Mount's hero is a side-rolling fighter developed by Runiq, a Canadian independent studio composed primarily of former employees of Activision, Beatox and Ubisoft. You will choose from one of eight heroes, each of which can be transformed into a powerful dragon and wasted on the battlefield. You can play solo or collaborate with three friends on Couch Co-Op or online, and you need to manage the hero’s unique abilities, dragon transformations and powerful upgrades to pass. You can also compete with your friends for supreme competition and can destroy them with a crafty curse – electrify them, shrink them or flip their controls. In the demo, you will have access to four of the eight heroes and can explore half of the first kingdom of the game (there will be a total of four kingdoms in the final game).
